On the beach

It's been too long since I updated the blog. We had a nice time at the Lake Rotoroa lodge south of Nelson. Mom and Dad definitely outfished me!

We are near Westport out on the coast of New Zealand now and are staying at a place right on the beach.

We stopped by a seal preserve on the way.

Tomorrow we will go further down the coast and the day after we will do a tour of some filming areas used in The Lord of the Rings.

Abel Tasman

Today we went to the Abel Tasman National Park and took a "water taxi", which was a boat that toured around the coast of the park. We saw some beautiful scenery and some baby seals with their mothers. After our tour we decided to have an early dinner and picked up some pizza and brought it back to the bed and breakfast we're staying at.




The tide went out while we were on the tour so we couldn't make it to the boat dock. Fortunately they have tractors out in the water to come get you!

Change of scenery

We flew out of Taupo today and connected in Wellington on our way to Nelson to stay at the Bronte Lodge. It's a beautiful bed and breakfast with a great view. We have internet available inside the place we're staying at so we should be able to put up a lot more pictures!

March 12th

Hello from New Zealand!
We do not have a converter to charge our laptops or cameras. We will be getting one soon though. Until then we will be using a community laptop at the lodge. We had a great day yesterday, everyone caught some amazing fish. Today we are going back out again and tomorrow Dad and I are taking a helicopter ride to some remote fishing areas and mom is going to ride horses.
Hopefully this afternoon I can put some pictures up!

We have arrived

We arrived safely in NZ and are setup to start fishing tomorrow morning. We don't have the right adapters for our laptops so we can't put up pictures as easily as we planned. I will be able to update them soon I just have to conserve my battery and wait for us to get a day or two more.
